NORAHT Members

The following is a list of NORAHT members who are assisting with our work:

Lanyan Chen, PhD is Professor in Social Welfare and Social Development at Nipissing University.

Donna Debassige is a member of the Chiefs of Ontario First Nations Women’s Caucus, Chiefs of Ontario Data Governance Committee, the Anishinabek Nation Women’s Council-Lake Huron Region, Manitoulin Aboriginal Research Review Committee-Noojmowin Teg Health Centre, and the Elders Advisory Council-Indigenous Justice Division.  Donna is the Elder for the NORAHT project.

Caitlin Dobratz is the Hepatitis C Community Coordinator for the AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area.

Kathleen Jodouin, MHS, BA (Hons) is the Executive Director of Victim Services of Nipissing District.

Brigette Lebel is the Executive Director of Amelia Rising Sexual Assault Centre of Nipissing.

Rosemary Nagy, PhD is Associate Professor in Gender Equality and Social Justice at Nipissing University.  Rosemary is the Co-Director of NORAHT.

Brenda Quenneville, MSW, RSW is a masters-level social worker and an independent research consultant.  She provides individual and group counselling to people with lived experience of various traumas, trauma-focused clinical supervision to social workers and psychotherapists through her private practice: Centered Fire Counselling and Consulting. Brenda is the Co-Director of NORAHT.

Gina Snooks is a doctoral student in Women’s Studies and Feminist Research at Western University.  Gina is a research assistant with the project.

Rebecca Timms is the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Coordinator at the Union of Ontario Indians.

We also thank Megan Bellefeuille-Stevens, a Psychology graduate from Nipissing University and a member of Nipissing First Nation, for her research assistance in 2016-2017. We also thank Jylelle Carpenter-Boesch who completed a double major in English and Gender Equality and Social Justice at Nipissing University in 2018.  Jylelle was a research assistant with the project and Sydnee Wiggins who is completing an honours specialization in Gender Equality and Social Justice at Nipissing University. Sydnee is a research assistant with the project. Sydnee was a research assistant with the project from 2018-2019. We also thank Serena Kataoka, PhD, Assistant Professor in Political Science and Social Welfare and Social Development at Nipissing University, for her valuable contributions in the early stages of our formation as well as during our first workshop.
